Head Chef Farshid Ziafat is renowned as one of the best Persian Chefs in the UK. Today he remains at the very heart of Hafez Restaurant.
Farshid has 40 years experience in an ancient and influential cuisine. From the age of sixteen he developed his specialist skills working with Head Chef Nassar Sharif at the 'Royal Tehran' restaurant in Old Pahlavi street, central Tehran, Iran.
The 'Royal Tehran', opened by Farshid's father, Hassan Ziafat in 1970, was the first restaurant in Tehran to achieve a five star status award. Five generations of his family have been successful restaurateurs in Iran, opening the famous, original Nayeb restaurant in the Tehran bazaar 120 years ago.
Farshid is a passionate perfectionist who has brought his own style and quality to Persian food in London. His talent for outside catering has taken him to events all over the UK and in Europe and the USA.
